Single call recorded and isolated using editing software from 1.5 minutes of background noise using .wav format. Adult male seen alone, on ground, in disturbed primary forest immediately southeast of Agathis Camp, Maliau Basin. Ran away through undergrowth when disturbed by recorder/observer. Other calling individuals heard (and seen once) below 1100m during three day trek around southern area of Maliau (Agathis-Ginseng-Camel Trophy-Agathis route).

The birds (seem to be at least two) were not seen calling, but a male Bulwer's Pheasant was seen strutting around in a sun patch below the ridge in the area that these calls were coming from, immediately afterwards and I am 99% sure of the ID
