I am finding it all rather confusing and as, at present, I am dealing with the loss of hearing and impending cochlear implants, my patience is not very long. I have been working with Ancestry for the past sixteen years and have a lot of success with many an interesting ancestor, but here I am finding it very slow and hard to follow. Very probably my fault, not Wikitree's. I will get back to it at some point as I am desperate to find my 3rd paternal Great Grandfather's family. So far no luck not even in the census or various other records I have found. I have decided they must be in Witness Protection ;) Thank you once again, I will get back to it all before very long, but at present, I have too many appointments that are gobbling up time.
This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far?
Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them.

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.
PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.
Start with the New Member How-To Pages - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around:
Let me know if you require assistance. I am happy to help. After adding my own family and ancestors I have found many cousins and distant ancestors here on WikiTree.

I need to be confirmed but no matter what I do for that it's wrong. Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Carolyn
Oh dear, I am so out of practice here, it's been a few years since I was last here the real life took over.
Carolyn
To Volunteer just add any surnames of interest into Tags so that you have one tag for each surname and location. By doing that, when you are confirmed as a full member you can then click on those tags, and you'll be taken to a page where you'll see other genealogists who are also following those surnames and locations. I really encourage you to explore the connections it helps you make. :-)
Don't forget to Check the Volunteer Box
Also Note There is a button to click at the bottom of the page that says Add tags and Volunteer. It is rectangular.
When you have done that one of our Greeters will confirm you as a full member so that you can Edit your Profile and enter information into WikiTree.
Gilly,
I copy the example but to no avail - no, not word for word :)
All profiles have a death date listed and that is only used for a deceased person profile that one creates. You just leave the death date blank.
