Academic Excellence

Tennessee Tech is committed to producing high academic achievement, fostering collaboration, and inspiring creativity and realized potential for the entire campus community. Tech students have access to multiple experiential learning opportunities in all undergraduate programs. A Tech-unique general education curriculum provides the foundation for technologically adept, analytically capable, career-ready graduates. Tech’s academic programs allow students to develop innovative, stackable credentials.

Tech offers more than 200 academic programs, including longstanding programs in liberal arts, education, engineering and nursing alongside innovative and cutting-edge programs in cybersecurity, environmental studies, business and design – including Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate and Education Specialists degree programs.

Trusted Quality

Professors and students achieve national and regional recognition for teaching and research and are responsible for Tech reputation of excellence. Tech faculty earn recognition and grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, Oak Ridge National Laboratories and national professional societies, allowing students to study and engage in research with respected scholars in their fields of study. Tech students and faculty compete for and receive numerous Fulbright awards, and students are increasingly being chosen for national fellowships.

Beyond the Classroom

Through experiential learning opportunities and an engaged community of education partners, the academic work of students at Tech has an impact far beyond the classroom. Whether it is nursing students doing community health work in Belize or in rural medical clinics in Tennessee, or engineering students designing latrines for villages abroad or medical equipment for children with special needs, or agriculture students studying food insecurity and building community gardens, Tech students become lifelong learners who use their curiosity, skills and passion for good.
