While more than half of the hotels in metropolitan France had their doors open again in the first quarter of 2021, occupancy rates remained low, which was also reflected in the number of overnight stays. A publication by the French national institute for statistical and economic studies revealed that three-stars hotels recorded the largest share of overnight stays in the first quarter of 2021. Meanwhile, four- and five-stars hotels placed second.
