Democracy index in Tunisia 2008-2022
In 2022, the democracy index in Tunisia stood at 5.51 points. Thus, the country was classified as a "hybrid regime", it was ranked below Bhutan and above Liberia. The democracy index in Tunisia increased significantly from 2011 onwards, after the Revolution, however, 2022 was the lowest score in the last 11 years under review. Furthermore, public opinion about the state of democracy in Tunisia revealed that majority of respondents felt that they the country was a democracy but one with flaws.
