As of August 2024, Park Jung Young, also known as "Loki", has won around 1.25 million U.S. dollars in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) tournaments. This makes him the top South Korean earner of prize money in PUBG tournaments, as well as the first Korean player to win over one million dollars through such tournaments. A total of about 64.2 million U.S. dollars in prize money has been awarded across 631 PUBG tournaments so far.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds is a game developed by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of the South Korean Bluehole Studio. The online multiplayer battle royal game was first published in 2017 and has become one of the best-selling video games of all time. As of 2023, PUBG had one of the biggest total prize pools in E-Sports, and one of the gaming applications with the highest reach in South Korea as of March 2021.

South Korea is known for its strong gaming and E-Sports culture. As of 2023, a majority of South Koreans reported playing video games in some form. Almost all gamers reported gaming on mobile platforms, while about 61 percent reported that they were playing video games on PC.
