Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Rated: 3/4 Oct 23, 2004 Full Review Tony Mastroianni Cleveland Press Rogues and scoundrels are not really lovable except in fiction, plays and movies, and then only in proportion to the quality of the work. I am happy to report that The Flim-Flam Man, all about a confidence man, has the necessary quality. Donald R This movie is disappointing in some ways because it tries to be Dukes of Hazzard with chases and mayhem and the Flim Flam man is kind of interesting from the Viewpoint of people with a scoundrel attitude who prey on the greed or ignorance of others. Yes,taking money away from other people and what he can get away with is the Flim Flam Man and his sidekick who is being sought by the army. This movie is a little too long and a little too convoluted to be really enjoyable. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/24 Full Review Audience Member With Kershner behind the camera you of course are struck with tremendous use of the widescreen aspect ratio and attention to gradual earned character arcs. 'Flim Flam' is by no means a powerful or spellbinding film by any but it is an undeniably accessible and charming little ride. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member better than the book Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A fun yarn about a old timey southern grifter and the kid he sucks into his world, doesn't get a lot better than George C. Scott, Harry Morgan and SLIM PICKINS! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Classic movie, very funny. Harry Morgan was great in this movie for the sheriff Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This is one of those movies I saw with my Dad as a kid. I have never forgotten how much we both laughed when watching this on Fritz the Night Owl's Late Movie on Channel 10 WCBS Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
