At the age of 20 Anthony Bruce Kendall finished third in the boardsailing at the Los Angeles Olympic Games, won the event four years later in the Seoul sailing off Pusan, and was fourth in Barcelona. At the 1996 games in Atlanta, he was a sailing coach for the New Zealand team. Kendall, with fellow boardsailor Aaron McIntosh, tried unsuccessfully to qualify for Beijing in the Tornado class. He is the older brother of the Barcelona gold medallist, Barbara Kendall, and they remain the only New Zealand brother and sister to both win Olympic gold medals.
