The North West Provincial Legislature today (14/6) swore in members of the 7th administration in the province, with The ANC having 23 members and the EFF seven. The EFF is the official opposition.
The North West High Court Judge President Ronald Hendricks presided over the proceedings of the first sitting. The speaker and premier were unopposed and elected.
ActionSA has one seat in the legislature and chairperson Kgosi Mangope was the member sworn in. Speaking to OFM News, Mangope said their mandate is to advocate for unemployment to be decreased, infrastructure development to be improved, and municipalities to be functional for services to be rendered efficiently.

The newly elected speaker of the legislature Desbo Mohono thanked all those who entrusted her with the responsibility of the oversight arm of government.
The South African National Civil Organisation Chairperson, Tshepo Khoza, had been elected as the deputy speaker of the legislature.
