PRO BASKETBALL; Loughery Fired, but Heat Wins

Kevin Loughery was dismissed yesterday after three and a half years as head coach of the Miami Heat, just one day after the team's new owners took over.
Assistant Coach Alvin Gentry replaced Loughery on a day the owners, the Arison family, also hired Dave Wohl as executive vice president of basketball operations.
Gentry got his first victory as Miami's coach and the Heat got 20 points from Billy Owens to beat the visiting Milwaukee Bucks, 112-99, last night.
Wohl told Loughery he was out after yesterday's practice. Loughery was offered a position as vice president for player personnel. It was not immediately known whether Loughery, 54, would stay. Magic 111, Pacers 92

Hakeem Olajuwon scored 26 points and Houston, which shortly before game time announced a trade for Clyde Drexler, used a patchwork lineup to beat Los Angeles.
