Tommy Hughitt Dies In Florida Tommy Hughitt one of Esnaba's all time football greats died in at Bartow, orida on birthday, hospital, ednesday and will be buried at affalo, N.Y. on Saturday. His last visit to Escanaba, his rthplace, was for the Class of 109 50th reunion here in 1959. His name was Ernest F. Hugtt and he was the son of Mr. and [rs, Orrin Hughitt. He won a football letter in lis freshman year and in his ther three years at Ann Arbor, 912, '13. '14 and '15 and he won hree letters in baseball at U-M, n 1913, '14 and '15. After his school vears he folowed Escanaban Tom Riley as 'ootball coach at the University of Maine and then was a businessman in Buffalo. He had a Ford agency there at one time and was in the auto business until his death. His interest in sports continued through his life and he Was an official in many college and university games in the East and in many pro football games and he was a part owner of Buffalo team in the National the Football League for a time. He ran unsuccessfully for schriff Buffalo and legalized his name as Tommy Hughitt for politics. He is survived by his wife, Betty, formerly of Ann Arbor: his sisters, Miss Anna Hughitt, of Oberlin, Ohio, a retired member of the faculty at Oberlin College; and Mrs. D. M. (Edith) Wright of Bartow, Fla., and his sister-inlaw, Mrs. H. H. Hughitt of 610 Lake Shore Drive, Escanaba, Funeral services are to be held in the Brady Funeral Home at Buftalo Saturday afternoon and burial will be in Buffalo.
