Your sleep paralysis demon is hoping to make some friends in the waking world. Can you help this creature look presentable for the humans, with an outfit it can be its most authentic self in?

This is the first game I've actually finished in ages, so it's definitely not very polished. But I did it, completely by myself, because I wanted to learn real coding and become capable of making a whole game self-reliantly. The story and theme are kind of experimental here, as the main focus was just getting the mechanics to work and I didn't have much time to make the rest of it make any sense.

Figuring out how to export this was an adventure, but in the end it turned out that I was making it unnecessarily hard for myself and that HTML5 exporting from Game Maker doesn't need a Mac developer license. So I can confidently say that I'll be hopefully updating this in the future to include more clothing options, proper animations, and maybe even medals!

Prompt: "More Like Me"

CURRENT BUGS:

  • Title screen music does not play upon first entering the title screen.
  • Intro dialogue is the wrong font on replay after good ending.

I'll work on fixing these! Thanks for playing!

Well, I found the right attire at third attempt and I can say that blouse suitable for ending.

I really felt like we were close friends trying to find a good outfit, it's a good game concept i liked it!

Thetageist responds:

Yay! Thank you!

I like it, reminds me of how the back of my head used to constantly worry if I was dressed "right"
eventually just relaxed with "I'm dressed aren't I?" and it has worked ever since

Thetageist responds:

That’s a good way to respond to that! I’ll keep it in mind in my own fight against insecurity.

not bad just feel like the options rn are a bit limiting/ i cant find any good endings.

but that could just be a skill issue. art is great and so are the outfits

Thetageist responds:

More clothes will probably be added.

Dunno about a “good ending” but one of them is canon!

quite a fun short game, I am hoping some of the clothes suggestions the artists gave for this creature will be put in but I understand if you get busy or lack motivation for it.

Idk who she is so I'm gonna call it Spara for short of sleep paralysis

things i found:
-cutscene dialogue music doesn't loop when it finished playing
-even when Spara is naked, the play button is still there which is funny [maybe put a new dialogue to reward the player for discovering that?] 'i can't go out naked you dork!'
-the dress-up background is just the image zoomed in and out quickly which i found hilarious

I don't feel like i can fully review it if you plan to add more things, but for now I'd say it's a good play! I somehow managed to get the dialogue options i needed in 10 mins.

P.S. sexy ending when? ;)

Thetageist responds:

The clothes from the forum thread weren’t supposed to go into the game, because I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying their artwork was an outfit the character didn’t like.

Will be fixing those bugs and probably working on a remastered bg. Didn’t know you stuck around on the ending cutscene long enough for it to not loop - I wasn’t anticipating anyone would.

Sexy ending will happen, but not how you think it will.
