After messing around for a little bit, I've come to a conclusion that it is simply a saw wave going through a minor scale (Not A Minor, I didn't bother checking it), with a linear fast decay, repeating notes at 1/32 (or 1/16 or something else depending on tempo (or its possible it's not related to tempo at all idk)).

iu_1308404_10334054.webp

What I've basically done is link the LFO to the saw wave's amplitude repeating at 1/32 at 100 BPM then go down the notes of C Minor (because I'm lazy, not because I know what it was).

I find it easier to place joints first and the top side of the fingers. I also tend to simplify the fingers in 2 rather than 3 if it isn't bent or detailed enough.

Response to: Where Do Your Song Ideas Come From?? Posted November 26th, 2024 in Audio

My mind just plays music inspired by songs I previously listened to and doesn't exist for about a quarter of the time I'm awake and I try to recreate it.

I once drew a ceiling fan as a spider and a trash bin as a humanoid in high school for some reason. I also drew a scene of three guys wearing full hazmat suits with a fire extinguisher trying to cook a hotdog because of a clip my classmate showed me out of the blue. Lastly, I drew some cult playing Uno in some ritual circle because I played it with my siblings during a typhoon with candles in the dark.

Warning: It's just LOUD!

I still remember trying out music production for the first time as a fan of hardcore techno and speedcore which brought me into the habit of creating kicks (and bass) from scratch. These days, I can imagine tracks with the kick design in mind and how I can potentially achieve the desired sound. Since I am really obsessed with kicks, and fairly comfortable with the creation process, I tend to do them first. Afterwards, I create a melody and then design the synth. Only then do I make the chords and other background elements... which I'll also probably create with a synthesizer... (I love Vital)

What mature or somewhat mature themes do you enjoy looking at, or at least get intrigued by on shows, games, or art? Violence? Gore? Nudity? Trauma? For me, I sometimes draw sexy shit because I'm a fucking perv and I regret none. That being said, don't feel forced to draw something if it's uncomfortable.

I don't know if it's gonna be relevant here since no one mentioned it but if you ever feel unsure of your mix, you can always reference a similar track with the help of a frequency spectrum analyzer. (Just make sure they're the same volume)

I've sketched lots of handguns because they're simple and I aim to be able to draw them at any angle, and at any time that I want to. Drawing handguns became my preferred method of practicing drawing boxes in perspective. I also like drawing sniper rifles because they're cool.

I'm also constantly on art block not knowing what to draw so yeah, I just wanna be able to draw scary stuff. Any ideas?

Try attaching mechanical elements to it to make it look more lab-made and grotesque.
also to give it some form of empathizing qualities since it looks like it was tortured for experiments.
For years, all it has known was pain and fear. slowly cultivating it into a creature full of spite and primal rage...
When it broke out, it didn't seek vengeance or retribution, no... it was merely too animalistic to determine who it's abusers were...
it does the very thing it was created to do...
Killing with 100% lethality...
Just sounded cool in my opinion

I was struggling to come up with a creature with that description because I just realized I don't actively think of designs, it just comes into my head randomly.

So have this lab-made dinosaur knockoff.

The squid was an interesting idea, unfortunately, I find it hard to draw tentacles.

Play this game, gives you an idea how to draw squid alike creatures that break free from labs

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prey_(2017_video_game)

tentacles do not have to be real world squid copies, you can make it more alien, mixed, sloppy, eerie. And it is also ok if you do not nail it with 1st sketch or few. It can take sometimes even 100s of sketches to get proper final idea.

You are going to get there. Just carry on researching.

I finally got back to drawing and drew one of Prey's creatures, the mimic.

My usual style wouldn't look scary so I've decided to use an opacity brush again and I'd say it turned out well. It was also fun not having to worry about drawing the suction cups on each limb this time.

Response to: Have any advice for nsfw artwork?🤔 Posted March 29th, 2024 in Art

I'm not a great artist nor have I drawn much NSFW but I think I can share a few things which may help you in drawing them.

But first, let's get anatomy out of the way. It's pretty much common sense that we need a good understanding of the body to draw the body. The only advice I could give regarding this matter is to learn it starting from its simplest form and simply progress by adding more detail. Don't worry about the bones and muscles yet, it's important that you first understand how to draw a convincing body or else any detail you add may become a waste of effort.

Now, here are some things which I think helps with NSFW art:

1.Curves

  • Makes it look dynamic, something you'd want in drawing a living figure. You can (and probably should) draw the entire figure with only curves, reserving the straight lines for non-living things like clothes. Sometimes, some parts of the body looks like it should be drawn with a straight line, but it would be better to draw it with the slightest of curves because even that would make a large difference on the impression of your illustration. There may be times when you may want to use a straight line, but do so sparingly. (But if you want to draw someone who looks tough, forget it.)

2.Asymmetry

  • Another thing which makes it look dynamic. Asymmetry could be applied to the composition, pose, shapes, and other stuff I probably forgot. I'd say this is really important for the pose and shapes. Applying asymmetry to your pose makes your character look more "natural" because I don't think we humans rest in symmetrical positions. It could be as simple as making the arms point in different directions, or tilting the head (There's a technique I want to mention but I clearly forgot what it's called). As for the shapes, I'm not saying that a pair of limbs should be different to each other, or the skull, torso, and hips should not be symmetrical, but rather, the lines to create the form itself must be asymmetrical. For example, the forearms can be drawn as a cylinder which we can draw with two lines (if we don't draw the edges), however, that by itself is boring. We can apply curves to make it more interesting, and it probably does, but it still leaves us with a problem. If we draw the two lines the exact same way, it would look too "perfect", which looks pretty unnatural. By making one line curve differently than the other, we can achieve asymmetry, which makes it look more natural.

There are other things which I want to share but I can't form them into words quite yet. You'd have to find other answers yourself. That's all, hope this helped.

It's been a while since I last visited this thread. I'm glad to see it's still going. It was fun drawing this character who just happened to align in my current "interest" in drawing. It was also nice to draw simple clothes because in my previous drawing, I, for some reason, decided to draw fanart of a character with multiple layers of clothes, without reference, on an unfamiliar position, with complex fabric physics, on paper. Anyways, that's enough blabbering from me.

Response to: Participating in an Art Contest Posted December 28th, 2023 in Art

Hearing art contest brings back a funny memory when I was around grade 1. I once joined the school's art competition and everyone had high hopes for me because I always draw. Unfortunately, the competition wasn't about drawing, but coloring and I basically had no skill. They had already printed the outlines so my drawing skills were useless. Apparently, I was crying during the competition and it didn't help that we were tasked to color Dora The Explorer.

This is Helios, he is a character in the same story as my previous characters Zephyr and Terra. He is a highly influential religious figure (the major religion which worships the sun) and is completely blind. Now, this is a special request from me. Helios wields the same kind of weapons as my other two characters do and his abilities are far more advanced, but I have not been able to design any for him yet. If you decide to draw him, I encourage you to come up with his own weapon to match the style of the other two characters. Thank you.

He looks like he'd wield the sun so I imagined him having multiple blades which can form a wheel or something.
