Sheppard Extension public consultations underway

Metrolinx seeks community input on potential extension along Sheppard Avenue.

Nov 14, 2023

Metrolinx is seeking community input on a potential extension of rapid transit along Sheppard Avenue, both east and west of the existing TTC Line 4 subway.

Three upcoming community consultations for the Sheppard Extension project will give community members the opportunity to provide feedback on how people travel along Sheppard Avenue today and how they might benefit from new rapid transit options in the future.

The feedback Metrolinx receives will help guide the development of rapid transit improvement options that will be detailed in the future Sheppard Extension Initial Business Case (IBC).

Next steps for Sheppard Extension project

These consultations are just the first step in developing an IBC for new transit along Sheppard Avenue.

An IBC reviews a potential project at a high level to assess how it addresses existing problems and opportunities. It also selects a preferred option for further refinement and design.
