Comic art by Ruben Sosa.
Ruben Sosa was an Argentinian comic artist and teacher. He began his career assisting Eugenio Zoppi and Hector Germán Oesterheld on series like 'Misterix' in the 1950s. He found employment with the publishing house Frontera, where he worked on 'Ernie Pike' for the magazine Top, as well as the western 'Mortimer' with Oesterheld in Frontera Extra and 'Eternauta'. In the 1970s, he also made foreign comics, doing art on ghost and mystery titles for both Charlton, DC and Skywald in the USA. He moved to Italy in 1976, where he worked as a comic artist, illustrator and art director for publicity films and even as an actor. In 1986, Sosa founded the Studio Arti Visive in the Italian town of Brescia, where he taught a variety of art techniques including cartooning and magazine illustration to among others Andrea Mutti and Giancarlo Olivares. He died in 2007.
Ruben Sosa should not be confused with Uruguayan football player Ruben Sosa (1966) or Uruguayan cyclist Ruben Sosa (1980).
