Eine zentrale Verbundkatalogisierung ist im KOBV nicht zwingende Teilnahmevoraussetzung. Ausser einer Nutzung der kooperativen B3Kat-Infrastruktur ist auch eine Katalogisierung lokal möglich. Dafür steht ein gesondertes Fremd- und Normdatenangebot bereit.
