The Making of Sgt. Pepper’s Cover
It’s possible that a few of you have seen this photo spread, as it was published a while back. But I’ve never seen it, and if you’re a Beatles fan you’ll love the numerous alternate covers that were considered for Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band. The cover famously included images of both William S. Burroughs and North Beach fixture Lenny Bruce, who infamously broke his leg in 1965, having falling from an upstairs window of the very building we occupy at Broadway & Columbus.
