Bruno Mars is one of the greatest artists in the music industry today. However, his journey to be on top was not easy. In a recent interview, the "Grenade" singer proves that it takes a lot of determination to be successful.
The 31-year-old singer opened up about his life when he joined Zane Lowe's "Beats1" show on Apple music. He talked about making failures in his career and how he wants to be remembered in the future.
He recalled when he was still an aspiring singer and songwriter. For him those days sucked, but in a beautiful way. He got dropped by his then record label. But Mars said that if he wasn't dropped he might not be where he is right now. He believes that he needs to go through in all of those things to build his character. According to him, if it is easy to be in his place then everyone will be doing the same thing he does.
His lowest point was the moment when he needed to tell his friends that he got dropped. He's broke, he's in debt and depressed about the fact that he was a dropped Motown artist. Despite of this he is not blaming anybody.
His failures were not a hindrance for Bruno Mars to pursue his dream. In fact, it is one of the reasons that brought him where he is today. When he was 20 years old, he got another deal from music executive Sylvia Rhone, but the timing was not right.
He had to meet Jeff Bhasker and beg him to come and play at Pickwick's Pub on Ventura. He thought that he needs to sing those songs and gig while his mind is contradicting that he wasn't even supposed to be in those places.
Today, Mars says he is greatful to be making music. His latest hit, "24K Magic", is another disco groove that is infectious and will definitely make people move and dance. He believes that happiness is all what he wants to give to everyone.
