This certainly isn't a perfect film and it lacks a lot to be perfect, but John Wayne plays his classic character of a guy with emotions, which I like. Plus, he plays a man who's trying to gain custody of his daughter, which is a good theme that's also well-executed. It's just that the romantic angle didn't quite work here. ()
