Youth Climate and Sustainability Round Tables

Protect your Future - With the European Economic and Social Committee, Generation Climate Europe, and the European Youth Forum

The Youth Climate and Sustainability Round Tables are a space for regular, structured and meaningful dialogue between youth and EU decision makers, launched after the adoption of the EESC's opinion Towards structured youth engagement on climate and sustainability in the EU decision-making process.

The EU Youth Round Tables take place twice a year and are hosted by the European Economic and Social Committee in cooperation with the European Youth Forum, Generation Climate Europe and the European Commission. Each EU Youth Round Table is on a specific topic related to climate and sustainability and each time a group of around ten youth representatives meets with the Commissioner whose portfolio is relevant for the discussion.

A key feature of the EU Youth Round Tables is the follow-up mechanism, set up to ensure that the demands of young people are duly considered by the European Commission. After each event, the youth representatives submit an outcome document with a few policy demands to the Commissioner involved. The Commissioner, with the support of the relevant DGs, commits to providing a clear written response to the policy demands in the following months. Both documents are then made publicly available on the website of the event.

No registration is required to follow the events as they are always webstreamed on our website, watch them live and take part in the debate!
