Who WE Are – Tiana Sirmans
A Rising Star
When Tiana Sirmans told her mother she wants to be a broadcast reporter, she meant it…at age eight! While in the third-grade this student at Pleasantville was selected as the youngest youth reporter for Kids Time Magazine. She has interviewed numerous celebrities, and spent her day off from school job shadowing at WDEL radio where she was interviewed live on the air. Tiana attended the National Association of Black Journalists Convention where she networked just like the adults, and has also received numerous local awards. As a fourth-grader, Tiana was discovered by producers of NBC’s Kelly Clarkson Show where she was surprised with an all expense paid trip to California to appear on Access Hollywood so she could interview stars of the Addams Family movie during its premier viewing . She was also given a shadowing experience in New York with syndicated columnist Arianna Huffington. As a reward for all of her hardworking efforts, Tiana received the Freedom Fund Award from the Newark branch of the NAACP. Colonial Nation can’t wait to see what this pint-sized go-getter does next!
Tiana is #WhoWEAre.
