St James' Park
St James' Park is the oldest football stadium in the North East. It housed three teams - Newcastle Rangers, Newcastle West End and Newcastle East End. The latter moved to the ground in 1892 shortly before they renamed themselves Newcastle United. Between July 1998 and August 2000 work was carried out to increase its capacity to 52,404.
