Volunteering at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE) offers a unique opportunity to serve others and help make the hospital experience as comfortable as possible for our patients and their families. As a volunteer you have the opportunity to assist staff, provide administrative support, and become a valuable member of the NYEE care team.
Our dedicated volunteers range in age from high school students to retired professionals, from all walks of life and many different cultures. Volunteers are a special kind of person who freely give of their time and energy, and in return, enjoy a genuine sense of satisfaction from helping others.
The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary is a hospital that specializes in the treatment and research of eye, ear, nose, throat and related problems.
Volunteer Opportunities: Throughout the hospital there are clinical and non-clinical areas that need volunteers. Together we’ll help you choose an area based on your background and experience. Some of the challenging assignments include:
- Admitting
- Glaucoma
- Clinics
- Human Resources
- Lobby Ambassador
- Nursing Administration
- Ophthalmology
- Otolaryngology
- OR/Recovery Room/PACU
- Registration
- Social Services
Volunteer Commitment: Usually a minimum of 3 hours a week is required.
