“The model of wellbeing and mental health support at BGS is a beacon of good practice. It sets a standard that all schools across England could learn from if resources allowed.”
What strikes many visitors to BGS is the happy atmosphere throughout our School. This is a reflection of our vibrant and happy community. We want all our pupils to look forward to coming to school, to relish the challenges on offer and to take advantage of the many opportunities and experiences BGS can provide.
From performing on stage in our impressive theatre, to teamwork on our sports fields at Failand, or on adventures outdoors and overseas, there are many ways for your child to find their place at BGS. They will learn they are capable of far more than they believed possible and develop the courage and determination to take on life’s challenges. This is the education we offer at BGS; the excellent exam results our students achieve are a consequence of all that we do here, inside the classroom and out.
At BGS, ensuring your daughter or son is happy and enjoys school life is at the heart of what we do. Your child’s form tutor will get to know them as an individual and will always be there for them to turn to with any concerns, big or small. In the Senior School and Sixth Form, your child will also have the support of their Head of House. These strong and lasting relationships mean your son or daughter will always have someone familiar to turn to if they need a little extra support.
At whatever stage of their education they join us, your child will be welcomed into the BGS family.
Our aim for your child is for them to leave BGS happy, confident and secure, equipped not just with qualifications but with the skills they will need beyond school.
