School Organisation: Harborne Primary School Expansion 2019

Overview

Harborne Primary School is a local authority maintained community school located in Harborne Ward of the Edgbaston District in Birmingham.

The current capacity of the school is 630 with an admission number for Reception of 90.  The school has agreed to take an additional 30 places in Reception in September 2018.

There has been extensive public engagement around the demand for places in the area and the expansion of Harborne Primary School.

This website forms part of the statutory consultation by Birmingham City Council for the proposal to enlarge Harborne Primary School by expansion onto an additional site with effect from September 2019.

Why your views matter

 Birmingham City Council, as the Local Authority for Birmingham, in collaboration with the school leadership and governing body, is consulting on our proposal to enlarge the school by expansion onto an additional site with an annex on Court Oak road.

The proposed capacity of the school with the annex is 840 places with an admission number for Reception of 120 with effect from 1st September 2019.

Birmingham City Council must publish the  final proposal for public consultation. This statutory consultation (representation period) will start on 11th January 2018 and will last for 4 weeks until 7th February 2018.

A consultation event has been arranged in collaboration with school on 29th January 2018.  The event will be a walk-in / drop-in session for parents and interested parties to comment on the school organisation proposal. For further details, please see the letter attached to this webpage.

What happens next

During the consultation period anyone who wishes to make comments/objections about this proposal should do so via this online survey or by writing to the School Organisation Team, Education Infrastructure, PO Box 15843, Birmingham, B2 2RT.

Following the statutory consultation, all comments will be analysed and anonymised by the School Organisation Team. A copy of the comments and the analysis will be forwarded to and considered by to the decision makers: the Cabinet Member for Families and Schools and the Corporate Director for Children and Young People. They will make a decision on this proposal by 7th April 2018.
