Happy Halloween! After plenty of reunion rumors in recent months (and plenty of false alarms) it looks like My Chemical Romance, the unofficial official band of Halloween since 2004, is doing it for real this time.
Rumors began swirling earlier Thursday (Oct. 31), when the band launched an official Instagram page for the first time and made various other updates across its socials. Then, the band posted an image along with the words, “FRIDAY DECEMBER 20TH, 2019, SHRINE EXPO HALL, LOS ANGELES, CA.”

Additionally, AXS posted a web page where on Friday, fans can purchase tickets to the Goldenvoice-promoted comeback show set for Dec. 20 at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. The venue posted details about the show, too.
The Gerard Way-fronted rock band broke up in 2013, three years after releasing its most recent album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. Since then, Way and guitarists Frank Iero and Ray Toro have released solo projects and bassist Mikey Way joined a band called Electric Century. Way has also stayed in the public eye with his Netflix-adapted comic series The Umbrella Academy.
Are more reunion shows on the way? Perhaps even new music? We shall soon see. Billboard has reached out to reps for the band and will update this story as more details become known.
