Wrexham have completed the signing of Salford City defender Luke Bolton and centre-forward Jack Marriott from Fleetwood Town, both for undisclosed fees.

Marriott, 29, has signed until 2025, while Bolton has agreed a deal running until 2026.

Manchester City academy product Bolton, 24, has been used as a right-sided full-back and also a winger throughout his career.

"I'm buzzing to be here," said Bolton.

"How the club has kicked on in League Two to be second in the table is something I want to be a part of.

"Hopefully we can push on and go for the title because it's not out of the picture, that's for sure, and I'm glad to be part of it."

Bolton gained his first experience of senior football on loan at Wycombe Wanderers and played alongside Wrexham's Elliot Lee in a 24-game spell at Luton Town. He scored his first professional goal while on loan at Dundee United.

He joined Salford in the summer of 2021 and made 20 League Two appearances this season, producing five assists.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson described Bolton as a good addition to the squad, adding: "He's going to be a player that adds real pace and dynamism to the team."

Marriott began his career at Ipswich Town before a move to Luton, where he was the club's top scorer in his first season.

Moving to Peterborough, he scored 27 goals in League One during the 2017-18 season, before reaching the 2019 Championship play-off final with Derby County.

He returned to Peterborough in 2021 and then joined Fleetwood in January 2023, where he has scored five goals in 24 League One games this season.

"I'm really pleased to be here and happy to get the deal over the line," said Marriott.

"The club's performances, the way they play as a team, is a real key factor for me signing and the trajectory that the club is going in is something that I want to be involved in."

Parkinson believes Marriott will enhance his squad as the north Wales club seek back-to-back promotions.

"He's got proven experience at a higher level and comes to us looking to make a real contribution in our second half of the season," said the Wrexham boss.

Utility player Liam McAlinden, meanwhile, has left Wrexham by mutual consent.

McAlinden agreed a one-year contract last summer, but departs having made only two league appearances this season.
