Tap the microphone button on the onscreen keyboard, or turn on Dictation through Keyboard settings in System Settings on your Mac. Say what you want to write, and your device converts your speech into text. While dictating, you can move fluidly between voice and touch, so you can type with your keyboard, move your cursor, and add QuickType suggestions, all without needing to stop Dictation.11 Dictation automatically punctuates your text with periods, commas, and question marks as you speak.12 And you can easily insert emoji into messages with your voice. Just say “Happy face emoji” when sending your next message.13
