Our modern world is more technologically advanced than ever before. There’s an app for everything, a fitness watch for everyone, things like beat making software, and even a voice assistant we talk to. We have certainly come a long way in a relatively short space of time.
We only just touched the surface there, too. The innovation has been quite remarkable, and probably more so with our mobile phones than anything else. Gone are the days of having a chunky device which resembled a brick, now we have smartphones capable of carrying out a range of functions. Gaming is one particular feature that has taken mobile phones to a whole new level. With developers bringing us groundbreaking phone games, the mobile gaming community has grown in the process. Games like Pokemon Go, Candy Crush, and Angry Birds registered huge success and are a testament to that.
Console gaming is still around, though. In fact, that too has made massive strides. So, with all of that in mind, how can mobile gaming compete against the likes of a PS4? Surely gamers would rather experience creations on a more sophisticated console? That isn’t the case, and here are a few reasons as to why.
 Casual, on the go gaming
Whether you’re catching a few Pokemon on your bus journey to work or choosing a huge selection of blackjack online while waiting for an appointment, gaming on mobile is easy to do. In fact, it takes a matter of seconds to pick up and put down a game, making it incredibly user-friendly as a result. Mobile gaming is certainly less intense than console gaming too, where it’s a lot more of a commitment and tends to be harder. Hyper casual gaming is at the forefront of mobile phone gaming’s success, which is why developers strive to release games that are easy to pick up and put down. Everyone has a phone these days too, making accessing these games easy to do and with no hassle attached.
Console-quality titles
An indication of just how far things have progressed is highlighted further by the fact that games developers are now taking the time to release mobile versions of games at the same time as console versions. Now, more than ever, we’re seeing games usually associated with more sophisticated devices hitting our mobile phone screens, such as Mario Kart Tour, Fortnite, and PUBG Mobile. There are also additional accessories such as joysticks and VR headsets that take these creations to another level, therefore improving the all-round gaming experience on a mobile phone.
Cheap and free games
Buying a console plus the games you want can be incredibly expensive. It certainly isn’t kind on the wallet, especially for the casual gamers among us. Compare that to gaming on a mobile, and it’s the total opposite. Most mobile games are free or incredibly cheap, and it takes a matter of seconds to purchase a release you want. You can also get through several games with ease before settling down on that final game you intend to session. All you need is access to AppStore and Google Play, and you’re good to go. It really is as easy as that.
Fun, easy to grasp releases
Mobile phone games are designed to be picked up and put down, but they’re also intended to be a lot easier to grasp than console games. Children of all ages game on a mobile, as do grandparents all over the world, so gaming on a phone really is for everyone. There’s a fun creation for us all.
