Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has equalled Steven Gerrard's Premier League record with his sixth EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.
The 24-year-old scored eight goals in six December matches, including back-to-back hat-tricks against Burnley and Southampton, to set a record of 39 PL goals in a calendar year.
And as a result he equals Liverpool legend Gerrard with six EA SPORTS Player of the Month awards, the most for any player in the competition's history.
"It's amazing, very proud of that," Kane said of matching Gerrard.
"I'd probably say my favourite goal was the one that broke the [calendar year] record against Southampton," he added.
"Obviously there's a lot of talk before the game about whether I'd do it or not so to get that goal early on in the game as well, it was a great achievement."
He received the most combined votes from a panel of experts, Premier League captains and fans to claim the award ahead of seven other nominees.
They were Chelsea's Marcos Alonso, West Ham United's Marko Arnautovic, Liverpool duo Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, Jesse Lingard, of Manchester United, Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez and Manchester City's Nicolas Otamendi.
