London and the surrounding area is made up of four ridings, London North Centre, London West, London-Fanshawe and Elgin-Middlesex-London in the 2015 federal election. Of those ridings, three were held by the Conservatives when Parliament dissolved. The fourth was held by the NDP.

Here's a breakdown of each riding.

London North Centre encompasses the city's downtown core and Western University and is home to some of the more affluent parts of London.

The riding had been held by a Liberal MP since 1997, when a vote-split in 2011 between the Liberals and the NDP saw Conservative incumbent Susan Truppe take the seat. Truppe was elected with 36.9 per cent of the vote.
