In a new interview with the NME, Rihanna says her long-awaited new album is still unfinished. "I have so many songs I love – and they're so different – that it's hard to actually put them all on the same album," Rihanna said. The Pop star added it won't be called R8, the long-rumored title of the album. She says it has also been delayed due to Kanye West's busy schedule. West is an executive producer on her next album, and "Kanye definitely wanted to be involved in making the album," Rihanna told NME. "So he did start helping me make it. Now we just have to wait to get back in the studio together. His schedule and mine are totally opposite right now, but I think this month we'll be back in the studio."

The RIAA has released its latest list of Platinum and Gold certifications. Some notable multi-Platinum singles for August included Avicii's "Wake Me Up" going 6X platinum, while Flo Rida's "Whistle" is now 4X platinum. The Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj collaboration is 5X platinum and Owl City's "Fireflies" is certified 7X platinum. Taylor Swift earned a 3X platinum certification for "Bad Blood" while "Blank Space" is now 7X platinum. Meghan Trainor's smash hit "All About That Bass" was certified 9X platinum. The Weeknd earned multi-platinum certifications for four different songs in August. And "Let It Go," the massive anthem from Frozen sung by Idina Menzel, is now 8X platinum.
On the album side, Swift's 2008 album Fearless is now 7X platinum. Meanwhile, Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late becomes the first Platinum album released in 2015. Imagine Dragons' new album Smoke + Mirrors was certified Gold.
Green Day will release Heart Like a Hand Grenade, a long lost documentary covering the making of their smash 2004 album American Idiot. The film is set for a wide release on October 10. The documentary was only screened once, five years after American Idiot's release, for just a few hundred fans, according to the L.A. Times. In a statement on their website, director John Roecker wrote, "This was 11 years ago and the film you are about to see has never been seen. It became a lost film, an urban legend in some ways. Some fans thought it was not real that it was some sort of prank the band and I created. And finally the little film that could is being released."
Gwen Stefani spoke about her long-awaited new solo album during a press day for Season 9 of The Voice, which premieres this month. "I'm literally writing like I've never written. Every time I go in the studio -- which I don't have a lot of time in my life -- so when I've gone in, every single time I have written a song," she told toofab's Brittany Kyles at the press junket. "I have close to 10 songs, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it's over a very short amount of time. It's never happened. So I am in a really good place for writing and I think that has a lot to do with being on the show last season and also just opening up and being on a journey to get to this point to be able to write again."
