Feb. 20--The chief executive of GenAmerica Financial Corp. plans to resign, and his replacement will be a MetLife executive based in Boston, MetLife said Tuesday.
Kevin Eichner, 50, will quit April 15 to "pursue his other business interests."
Eichner will be replaced at GenAmerica by Jim Benson. Benson also is president of individual business for MetLife Inc. and chief executive of the company's New England Financial unit.
GenAmerica owns General American Life Insurance. MetLife bought GenAmerica in 1999 when GenAmerica was in a severe financial crisis.
Eichner was a GenAmerica executive vice president during the crisis. …
