Bayern kept the first place in the first attack!
Al Ain FC (UAE) – the World’s Club Team of the Month for May 2014
Thanks to his victory in the DFB-Pokal, FC Bayern München kept the first place in the Club World Ranking for May 2014. Real Madrid CF is now the greatest rival and favorite to move them from the head. Really, the strange and poor end for the Spanish championship of Club Atlético de Madrid, Real Madrid CF and CF Barcelona gave a new chance for the Bavarian. Now FC Bayern has three points lead, but we must take into account that for the next month we must delete the points from June 2013.
There was no change into the “top-8”. Sevilla FC could move FC Barcelona from 6th place, but they got a draw match in the Europa League final. Arsenal FC climbed up to 9th place and replaced Chelsea FC as English representing for “top-10”.
The World’s Club Team of the Month for May is Al Ain FC (UAE), with 26 points, ahead SSC Napoli and Al-Sadd SC Doha, both 24 points. There were many other teams achieved higher number of points, but all them had one or more defeats and lost their options for this category: Cruzeiro EC Belo Horizonte (37 points), Grêmio FC Porto Alegrense (30), Club Nacional Asunción (30), Defensor Sporting Montevideo (30), Arsenal de Sarandí FC (27) and Club Bolívar La Paz (27). Real Madrid CF achieved 22 points and could be the best club in May 2014, but they lost a league math (0-2 RC Celta de Vigo).
In the “Top 100″ there are clubs from 38 countries: 62 clubs from the UEFA, 26 from the CONMEBOL, six from the AFC, four from the CONCACAF, two from the CAF and none from the OFC. The following leagues are represented by the most clubs in the “Top 100″: Brazil (7), Spain (7), Argentina (6), England (6), Italy (6), Germany (5), Mexico (4) and Ukraine (4).
