Yahoo! Inc. is a world-renowned internet services firm headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. It provides a variety of products and services including a web portal, search engine, email service and a web directory. It was established in January 1994 by two Stanford University graduates Jerry Yang and David Filo. The company was incorporated a year later in March 1995.
“Yahoo!” is actually not an interjection, but an acronym for “Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle.”

Yahoo! employed Organic, Inc., the well-known interactive advertising agency, to redesign its corporate logo in 1995. The firm’s head designer Kevin Farnham created the Yahoo! logo, comprising of a very elegant yet powerful wordmark, which makes one of the most popular and instantly recognizable logos on the internet.
The official typeface in the Yahoo! logo borrows from a T.26 font titled Able.
The earliest logo of Yahoo! was introduced in 1994, featuring a Jumping ‘Y’ guy. A few insignificant redesigns also appeared over the years.
