Shape of the Maserati Logo
The Maserati logo is among the most popular and instantly recognizable car logos in history. It is a traditional emblem of Bologna, the hometown of the founding family and the place where the company’s first plant was built before being shifted to Modena. The current version of the Maserati logo comprises of a white trident on a blue background, symbolizing Neptune’s trident at Bologna’s Piazza Maggiore. The tagline, “Excellence through passion”, in uppercase characters is placed below.
It was unveiled in 1926 when Tipo 26 was launched by Alfieri Maserati.
The sixth Maserati brother, Mario Maserati, who originally created the Maserati badge was an artist and least passionate about automotive engineering.
