Based in Boston, Massachusetts, the team was established in 1946 by Walter A. Brown, the president of Boston Garden-Arena Corporation.

Celtics are one of the most successful basketball teams in the history of sport. They have won a record 17 championships and numerous other accolades in their iconic history. They play their home games at the TD Garden, which they share with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The Boston Celtics logo has undergone various modifications throughout the years. Nonetheless, it is widely regarded as one of the most popular and instantly recognizable basketball logos ever created. Its current version consists of a leprechaun spinning a basketball, with the team’s name arched around it in a circle in uppercase characters. The logo was created by the head coach Red Auerbach’s younger brother – Zang Auerbach – in the early 1950′s.
