The Chanel logo was created in 1925 by Coco Chanel herself. It comprises of two interlocked and opposing letters “C” that form her initials. The logo, widely regarded as one of the most iconic and influential logos in fashion industry, has since remained unaltered. An alternative theory states that it was influenced by the original Château de Crémat emblem which also consisted of a pair of intertwined Cs.
The Chanel logo was not registered as a trademark until the first Chanel shops were set up.
