Shape and Colors of the Republican Logo
The “Republican Elephant” comprises of red, white and blue colors – the same colors found in the national flag of the United States of America. The logo features three white stars on a blue background, while the bottom half incorporates red color. In most cultures, the elephant is a symbol of strength, sovereignty, intelligence and stability.
The main idea of the Republican logo originated in 1874 when the legendary cartoonist Thomas Nast, a staunch Republican, used an elephant to represent the Republican vote in the November 7, 1874 edition of Harper’s Weekly.
The Republican logo is widely regarded as one of the most memorable and instantly recognizable political logos in the world.
