Automobiles Citroën S.A., more commonly known as Citroen, is a world-renowned French automobile manufacturer which is owned and operated by PSA Peugeot Citroën group. With its global headquarters in Saint-Ouen, France, the company was founded in 1919 by legendary French industrialist André-Gustave Citroën.
With a total production of 1,435,688 vehicles, Citroen employs more than 13,900 people worldwide as of 2011.

Shape of the Citroen Logo
The Citroen logo, comprising of two reversed “Vs”, is said to be influenced by André Citroën’s early business in gear-cutting. As a 22-year-old, he had visited Poland where he saw a chevron-shaped gear used in milling. The company later became a prominent manufacturer of double helically-cut gear teeth, which is brought together in the chevron.
The Citroen logo has undergone several modifications throughout the years. Its earliest form featured yellow and blue colors. The present red and white color scheme was however introduced during the 1980s.
The current Citroen logo was unveiled in 2009. Designed by the famous San Francisco-based branding agency Landor Associates, it is a 3D version of the original logo which features slightly less sharp chevrons in a sleek chrome finish.

The chrome chevrons in the Citroen logo result in its dynamic and bright appearance. The use of red color, on the other hand, signifies the passion, determination and business responsibility of the company.
