Slipknot is a hugely popular American heavy metal band formed in September 1995 in Des Moines, Iowa. It consists of Joey Jordison, Shawn Crahan, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn and Jim Root. The band is noted for its attention-grabbing persona, intense musical style and chaotic live performances. Slipknot has sold more than 20 million records worldwide.

A few of its most famous albums include Slipknot, Iowa, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and All Hope Is Gone.
