Starbucks are suing a Bangkok-based coffee stall, Starbung Coffee, over their use of the company’s famous “mermaid” logo. The stall’s owner Damrong Maslae, a 43-year-old Muslim entreprenuer, maintains that his logo is “halal” and that he will defend the lawsuit. According to reports, Starbucks has asked for £6,000 (300,000 baht) and a 7.5% annual interest for copyright infrigement.

Iberia is the flag carrier of Spain which flies to 75 destinations worldwide from its base in Madrid. The company has launched a new logo and livery for its aircraft, designed under the supervision of the famous brand consultancy Interbrand. The new design, which aims to give a more contemporary look to the airline’s corporate image, will be incorporated on its fifth Airbus A330 in November 2013.

The Commonwealth of Nations is an intergovernmental body comprising of 53 member states – 32 of which are republics and 5 of which are monarchies – that were mostly former colonies of the British Empire. It covers approximately a quarter of the world land area and is home to almost a third of the world population.

The organization has unveiled a revamped version of their logo which has been designed by the London-based Earth Branding. Featuring a 23.5-degree tilt to the distinctive globe, it also discards the word “Secretariat” from the name.

The Country Music Association (CMA) – headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee – was founded in 1958 and currently comprises of more than 11,000 music industry professionals and companies across the world. The first CMA Awards ceremony was organized in 1967.

Queensland Police has unveiled a commemorative logo as part of the planned celebrations of its 150th anniversary. The law enforcement agency was inaugurated on January 1, 1864.
