The Allianz logo is a prime example of a highly iconic and visually distinctive corporate logo. Almost all of the subdivisions of Allianz Global Corporate are represented of the insurance giant’s brilliantly executed brand image.

Shape of the Allianz Logo

The earliest known version of Allianz logo was introduced in 1980 and it contained a complex coat of arms. A redesign was unveiled in 1923 which was exceptionally stylized and simple as compared to the previous emblem, although it retained the original bird. After almost 54 years, the logo underwent another overhaul and an outer circle was lent to contain the mark more aesthetically.

The current version of the Allianz logo was implemented in 1999. As an attempt to further simplify the emblem, it discarded almost everything except the most essential components that made the bird recognizable. Allianz also came up with their “word-picture” logo in 2006 to more efficiently streamline their global brand portfolio.
