The Green Bay Packers are one of the oldest and most famous American football teams in the history of National Football League (NFL). Founded on August 11, 1919 by Earl “Curly” Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun and based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, they have won a record 13 league championships.

The Packers have long-standing rivalries with the Chicago Bears, the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings.

DESIGN ELEMENTS, HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF GREEN BAY PACKERS LOGO

Shape and Colors of the Green Bay Packers Logo

The iconic oval “G” logo of the Green Bay Packers was designed in 1961 by Gerald Braisher, the team’s equipment manager, in collaboration with his assistant John Gordon, who was also an art student. The design, consisting of a football-shaped letter “G”, was approved by the Packers’ then head coach Vince Lombardi. It, however, underwent slight modifications in 1980.

The team, as its popular nickname implies, has used “the green and gold” as their primary colors since the early 1950′s. Both these colors in the Green Bay Packers logo signify success, growth, freshness, supremacy and passion.
