The Adidas logo was created by Adolf “Adi” Dassler, the company’s founder, with a little help from his brother, Rudolf Dassler. The famous “three stripes” in the emblem depict a mountain which is indicative of the goals and objectives lying ahead. As the brand flourished and gained global recognition in the early 1970s, the Trefoil logo was unveiled. Adidas eventually merged with Salomon within a few years and a new design was introduced – featuring two colors; blue and red. The blue color represented Adidas, and red color, on the other hand, depicted Salomon.
The Adidas logo was once again revised; to the World Mark, which is generally considered to be more clean and visually distinctive. It is a prime example of a successful minimalist design.
