Shape of the Chelsea Logo
The Chelsea logo is one of the most popular and instantly recognized logos in the history of sports. It has undergone several modifications throughout the years.
The Chelsea logo originates from the official coat of arms of the Metropolitan Borough of Chelsea. While the “lion rampant regardant” is borrowed from the arms of former president Viscount Chelsea, the staff is taken from the Abbots of Westminster, former Lords of the Manor of Chelsea. The logo also incorporates three red roses that symbolize England, and two footballs that depict the wonderful sport.
The current version of the Chelsea logo depicts a ceremonial lion rampant regardant bearing a staff. It is a slight modification of the older logo of the club which was introduced in 1953.
