DESIGN ELEMENTS, HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF IRON MAIDEN LOGO
Shape and Font of the Iron Maiden Logo
The Iron Maiden logo is deeply associated with heavy metal art and imagery. It is featured on all of the band’s releases and official compilations. The Iron Maiden merchandise is also hugely well-liked and well-respected and the band’s logo appears on virtually anything you can imagine to buy, from t-shirts to caps and belts.
The Iron Maiden logo features the band’s name in uppercase characters using an angular heavy metal typeface. The band’s bassist Steve Harris has claimed in an interview that he has actually designed the memorable logo, but the typeface looks very similar to the one used in Vic Fair’s poster design for the 1976 film The Man Who Fell to Earth.
Colors of the Iron Maiden Logo
While the red color in the Iron Maiden logo personifies passion and courage of the band, the black color symbolizes its dominance, supremacy and elegance.
