It was founded in September 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi (1859-1940), originally as a manufacturer of handmade hanafuda cards, it gradually developed into a video game giant. According to an estimate, the company has sold more than 654.1 million hardware units and 4.10 billion software units to date.

Shape, Color and Font of the Nintendo Logo
Nintendo is well-known for its aggressive and extensive and rapidly progressive marketing campaign to generate buzz and establish itself as a “family-oriented” brand name. With its famous “ellipse” logo, the Nintendo brand is often credited as one of the world’s most popular and commercially successful entertainment brands.
The Nintendo logo is a good example of a clean, clear and uncluttered design.
The current version of the Nintendo logo was introduced in 2006. It features the company’s name in a sans serif typeface, surrounded in a matching gray oval which is equal in width to the stroke weight of the text. The previous logo of the company, with a red oval, was introduced in 1983.
