Originally established in 1945 by Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins in Glendale, California, it has more than 5,800 outlets in 43 countries worldwide. According to an estimate, the company serves about 3.7 million people each week.
Famous for its “31 flavors” slogan, Baskin-Robbins has introduced over 1,000 flavors since its inception.

Robbin’s Snowbird Ice Cream offered some 21 flavors, and when this famous chain of ice cream parlors merged with Burt’s Ice Cream Shop in 1953, it became “Baskin-Robbins” with a unique offering of 31 flavors. The memorable slogan – “Count the Flavors. Where flavor counts” – was devised by the Carson-Roberts advertising agency (presently “Ogilvy & Mather“).

The Baskin Robbins logo is widely regarded as one of the most iconic and instantly recognizable food logos ever created. The company started an extensive branding campaign in 2006 to revamp its logo and brand name and to redecorate its stores all over the world.
The current version of the Baskin Robbins logo was introduced in 2007. It brilliantly showcases the number “31″ – signifying the number of flavors offered by the company – in pink color right in between the names “Baskin” and “Robbins”.
