The Houston Texans are a popular professional American football team in the South Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Based in Houston, Texas, the team was established in 2002 as an expansion team. Its majority owner is Bob McNair.

Often regarded as one of the most popular and instantly recognizable logos in American football, the Texans logo has remained almost unaltered over the years. It was first introduced in 2002 by the majority owner Bob McNair, consisting of an abstract depiction of a bull’s head divided into two halves to resemble the flag of Texas. The left half features a five-pointed star which symbolizes the eye, with its five points embodying such qualities as pride, courage, strength, tradition and independence.

According to McNair, the Texans logo comprises of three colors, namely: “Deep Steel Blue”, “Battle Red” and “Liberty White”.
